OverviewVincent RANNOU, France
I’m Vincent RANNOU, a French wildlife photographer and recently videographer, born November 6, 1992 in Quimperlé in the west of France.
Following several years in competition in the field of cycling, running, I decided to stop to live at my own pace. For this I get closer to nature located a few meters from my house, here I spot different species such as foxes, deer, badgers or other wild mammals.
I love to discover, investigate and analyze unknown lands close to home, for this I spend a lot of time in the field patiently, meditating for hours. What matters above all to me is to have a good time in nature close to the wild: the end is one thing, but the path to it is another thing.
A day of photography is prepared in advance, generally I do a lot of walking and as soon as an environment fascinates me, I try to analyze the presence of fauna, by field presence or camera traps. As soon as I have spotted a frequent passage, it is a question of patience.
Being the most discreet, the dream of being invisible and observing intimate behaviors of wildlife is what I seek in this practice, to be there without being seen.
In fact, what I like about photography is spending time outdoors discovering species that I didn't think I could find a few steps from the house, such as Owls, Foxes and other species. Today, what matters to me is more the path than the purpose of a photo, video. Stay close to home, respecting the environment. Happiness is created by the voice that we create and not by a purpose (photo or video).
In 2021, I released my first co-edition book, this one called Connexion Sauvage. Under this same name, in 2022 I released my second book in co-edition as well as a feature documentary film released in cinemas (click here).
