Marisa Martinez (Spain)

My name is Marisa Martinez, I was born in Madrid.
I started photographing more than 17 years ago underwater. While I was beginning to gain experience in the world of diving, I was also gaining experience in the world of photography.
My passion for diving, made me invest all my possibilities in traveling around the world and thus began to photograph the fauna of the entire planet, feeling special predilection for birds around our planet.
 

Currently I am an OM System Ambassador and a guide of numerous workshops, both national and international, specialized in Nature photography.
My specialties are:
Nature photography, focusing on wildlife, both terrestrial and underwater, and because of the possibilities of my country, I photograph birds more frequently, especially from hide and hydrohide. 

I have collaborated in various exhibitions, publications and talks to raise awareness among young and old, about the need to protect our natural treasures through photography.
Also, I have participated as a judge in several photography contests, most recently Foto FIO 2022.

What is not known, is not protected! With my photography I try to show the natural world that surrounds us. Both fauna from distant countries and inhabitants of the bottom of our oceans, as well as the animals with which we share our nearby habitat and, in this way, making it visible and raise awareness to protect.

I usually use all kinds of camouflage accessories (from camouflage clothing, bag hides, bean bags for our safaris to Africa, chairs for the hides, camouflage nets...). 
Years ago I bought two Photo Hide Falco and an Aquila in a Brown Forest color that we have been using regularly. Recently I acquired the Aquila Mark II Green hide, since I almost always photograph with my husband, Javier Parrilla.
